Some (a LOT) of the users on Status.cafe and Neocities/Nekoweb (I mean, duh) are genuinely fucking WEIRDOS, and not the good kind???
Why am I being bombarded with frightening and/or concerning sentences.
Why can't we all just talk about our days and like I don't know, be nice to one another.
But you go on there and like a large majority are just folks being genuinely subtly homophobic and fetish-y and it's such a weird environment.
I don't know if I prefer corporate minimalist-looking blogs and websites than "chaotic" """OlD WeB-InSpiReD" sites filled with disturbing/possibly verging on illegal/at the very least unethical SHIT under the guise of "cute-sy" writing and emoticons, like no, you genuinely are a creep.
It feels really difficult to find spaces that feel like home, it feels like on the web there's either like corporate how-do-i-make-money off of my stupid blog type forums or the ones that think they deviate from society because they're outcasts but it's actually because they are maybe kinda creepy/perverted/have paraphilias/wtf??? Or they're just kids. Which makes more sense. Anyways.
Some folks are cool I think, but they're buried under all the others who are so so loud about their "interests." So how the heck do I find other blogger sites??? Where are they??? Wait actually it doesn't matter right now, 'cause its exam season and while I don't have any exams, I DO have massive assignments, like one I've got to finish right now ughhh.
BYE.
Erm. Yeah. A lot of the activity feed is kinda young teenagers and zoomers being crazy, at this point I stick to my feed and check out anyone who follows me on NC now. When it comes to old school blogging, Dreamwidth is pretty nice but the community that isn't centered on roleplay or fanfiction (not my thing) skews older.
ReplyDeleteYEAH!!! I'm technically a zoomer myself, but I have to remember that most of these folks are probably kids (But some aren't, what the heck you guys), so I might have to give the outlandish things they post some leniency. Oh actually, considering some of these kids haven't ever experienced the "old web" for what it really was, it is kinda silly, but I do respect the desire to go back to it. I don't even know what I was getting at with this post actually, but anyways thank you for commenting friend :-)
